Shyeaaah, they're no Phoenix Foundation Laughing Laughing

Actually they were a one-off combo of artists who played at an anti WTO protest and recorded 5 or 6 songs for an EP on the Alternative Tentacles label. They're not a boring, bland corporate paint-by-numbers rock verse/chorus/verse/chorus/outro act like the Foo's, and sing about government corruption and capitalism... of course they're not going to be huge.

That was my point.

If a link to Nirvana is a surefire success, then we'd all know about it.

No offense intended to the general rock music fan, but I see stuff like the Foo's as directed at the lowest common denominator (like most music and movies these days, nice & safe and polarised, easy to sell).

You say all that like I have no idea who WTO is. I've listened to it, and I had no time for it.

I think sometimes certain bands are not as popular as others not because they are experimenting, talking about seemingly more relevant topics or settling for a more generic song structure, but because they purely aren't producing very good music.

I agree, but I wouldn't say it is lowest denominator.

Don't patronize me, used is the imperative word in that sentence.

Haha she's so fantastically psychotic in that (and the outtakes are great too), I would probably turn gay for Tamsin Greig just because she was in the damn show. Embarassed

Saw 'Run Fatboy Run' on the weekend. Dylan Moran is in that too, but I like him in Black Books better.

That's the third movie I have seen with Simon Pegg in it and really enjoyed (Hot Fuzz and Shaun Of The Dead).
