RE: Big Day Out 2009 Posted: Tue Jul 29, 2008 9:39 pm So unfortunately Southern Amp have nabbed The Dandy Warhols and Potbelleez, which would have been prime bands for BDO09. |

RE: Big Day Out 2009 Posted: Fri Aug 1, 2008 8:06 am hey! offspring yeah! hadn't even occured to me but would make total sence. but them alone would not be good enough to make me go. this year i'm demanding at least 2 big acts that im into coz while rage was amazing the effort almost did'nt seem worth it |

RE: Big Day Out 2009 Posted: Tue Aug 5, 2008 9:27 am Chris Matthews announced that Headless Chickens are playing some reunion shows in December & January, so I'm pretty sure one of those shows will be the Big Day Out. |

RE: Big Day Out 2009 Posted: Wed Aug 6, 2008 3:07 pm Unforgiven 3... talk about flogging a dead horse The coffin in the ground image looks like a big hairy vagina. But I love Metallica and can't wait. Even if it's crap, I'll be buying it I doubt they could do the Cunning Stunts setup in NZ, it just wouldn't be cost-effective (the same reason Iron Maiden didn't come here on the last tour, and very probably the same reason Judas Priest cancelled) |

RE: Big Day Out 2009 Posted: Sat Aug 9, 2008 6:44 pm I am also very keen to see what the line up will be this year - I have a feeling it will be a biggin. 2009 will be my 16th year in a row (no youngin's I'm not 100!! Just 34)14 of which were in AKL. and the last 2 have been pinned on one band big hitters ie. Rage & Tool - so if you know the BDO history... they like re-runs. Last time Rage was on BDO tour was 96, violent femmes was 92 with Nirvana in SYD(it was really all over for me then... lifer) I can't see slipknot coming back - they have the nz/oz gigs in nz 22/10 & then 3 states in 3 days 26/27/28 Oct OZ YAY machine head - which I cannot wait for, yeah you guys get them first for once.. I can't see offspring either but a maybe.. they got a real poor reception over killswitch Eng at the last concert here in Melbs V Festival in Feb this year, so ? on that one. AC/DC have never played the BDO - always a first but if they were into it I reckon we would have seen them ages ago.. I reckon we may see 8ft Sativa back this year for build up for their new Album coming up.. By the way - has anyone there in NZ seen Sth Isl band 'Habit' live!?! Gud?? RE: Big Day Out 2009 Posted: Sat Aug 16, 2008 5:22 pm yes I second that - without question. Would love to see them live. I think I will have to come back to Auckland for this year's tho.. The venue here in Melbourne was mental. Imagine, A Race-course carpark - flat - dirty red dust - AND NO crowd serge barriers.. it was the most ridiculos set up I have ever seen - and was sold out.. they are asking for someone to get crushed and killed again like Sydney with Limp-bisc. People we climing up on Tents and Trees so they could see. And because it was one flat area - alot of the music clashed against each other.. AKL is such a better set up - the doof doof away from the main stages... Melbs was one end blue and orange and the boiler room right in front of it at the other end of the area.. You really have to question the organisers of these events - BDO has been round long enough to get it right without excuses... This message was edited by BxXx on Sat Aug 16, 2008 5:24 pm. |
