RE: Big Day Out 2008 Posted: Wed Sep 12, 2007 10:04 am Yeah Dream Theater didn't spin my wheels either. Impressive to watch play from a musicians perspective, but nothing in the songwriting that grabbed me. |

RE: Big Day Out 2008 Posted: Wed Sep 12, 2007 12:31 pm DT are awesome musicians but I'd say that their live show would get pretty boring quite quickly. |

RE: Big Day Out 2008 Posted: Sat Sep 15, 2007 9:59 am I would love to see the Pixies headlining BDO this year that would be awesome! maybe even throw the Breeders in there somewhere. Pumpkins or Metallica would be OK |

RE: Big Day Out 2008 Posted: Sun Sep 16, 2007 1:37 pm i have been looking through other forums and what i have seen on one interseted me. someone "in the know" has said that R.A.T.M is confirmed as headliners and Smashing Pumpkins are confirmed as second headliners. if so AMAZING!!! Also want to put in my view that this time round a world class Boiler Room Headliner is needed, respect to Shapeshifter as i LOVE NZ music but i think a real big boiler room act is needed.....maybe Chemical Brothers, Sneaky Sound System, Basement Jaxx................thoughts? |

From what I have heard, BDO headliners and concert headliners all around the world are booked 2 years in advance, considering neither of these two bands were together 2 years ago, it's not as likely as one would seem that these bands will headline or even come to BDO. Other than that, I think eveyone's pretty much on a good track with some of the bands that will come to BDO 2008 I think this year is the year of the indie/alternative bands!! Probable definates.. Klaxons (boiler room PLEASE!) Bjork Modest Mouse (please please please x49232) Arcade Fire Queens of the Stone Age Arcade Fire would be epic as, they put on a show like Muse... and as much as everyone would love the Kings of Leon to come back to BDO, they have their own shows in NZ in Jan and I'd LOVE The Presets to come back, and hopefully they will because they are just across the ditch! PLEASE DO NOT give Scribe a main stage spot if he comes... This message was edited by camisadonz on Sun Sep 16, 2007 6:37 pm. |

RE: Big Day Out 2008 Posted: Mon Sep 17, 2007 10:15 am Bjork would be awesome, saw her in 1996 and she blew me away. I still probably wouldn't travel for it though. |

Get bands like the Antagonist, The Bleeders etc ... bands that people actually like and will make it to the top one day. So many NZ bands don't get the credit they deserve. |
