RE: Big Day Out 2008 Posted: Mon Sep 17, 2007 2:11 pm I think scribe is shit and don't think he deserves a place on the main stage but think he deserves a spot at the BDO. Its important to get a variety of music genre there. Keep him on the hip hop stage where he belongs. the BDO isn't just for us rock lovers. Don't get me wrong i think he is shit BUT there is people in NZ who like him and want to see him at the BDO. Just keep him well clear of the main stage where they should be playing the top bands. |

RE: Big Day Out 2008 Posted: Mon Sep 17, 2007 3:19 pm Yeah there was no mistaking the resounding "boos" when he came on. Just a case of wrong genre on the stage. Sorry Malo, no "uh uh yeahs" here please |

Apparently Bjorks shows are real intense? |

RE: Big Day Out 2008 Posted: Mon Sep 17, 2007 6:32 pm it was also a case of bad timing i think, just after jet (as i recall) and right when everyone was getting all excited for the three big bands The Killers, Muse and Tool. I got tickets to the Muse concert in November. Can't wait! they were amazing! |

RE: Big Day Out 2008 Posted: Tue Sep 18, 2007 12:07 am R.A.T.M would seriously have a great sell out as there music is purely politictal and would be great due to the things going on in the states. Just on the subject of scribe....Scribe was great when he come out and im saying this because he was appealing to the R&B hip hop scene. Personaly Im totaly not interested In hip hop and R&B, Im purly into rock and the other genre's that come off rock itself. But when Scribe was playing across from me when I was waiting for The Killers everyone could see that scribe was past his time and he wasnt comfetable for the main stage....He dragged his performence on for to long going on about Peace and Love......He just doesnt seem right for the main stage. As Meka said he still deserves to be there but not on the main stages. But other than that I very much enjoyed Muse, Sinate, Trivium, Tool and MCR. Mind you I belive it would be awsome if some acts from europe would be great to see like, Dimmu Borgir, Rammstien, and one of my most fav bands Blind Guardian (Blind Guardian id you havnt heard of them Pitty on you lol) Other than that bring more metal!!!!!!! |

I was sitting in the beer tent (well under the score board) and all of a sudden I heard Scribe's name so I skulled my beer and went to the other side to see what else was playing ... long before any of the good bands played. Tool was awesome - I was up the front of the line for the mosh pit and all I could smell was toe jams and B.O. |

That's one word that can sum them up- EPIC. Their BDO show this year was right on the verge of sunset, and it was magic man! It will be good if Daft Punk come, but then again they are doing dates with The Presets (drool) later this year 2 weeks until the first BDO 08 annoucement!! TWO WEEKS!!! |

RE: Big Day Out 2008 Posted: Wed Sep 19, 2007 1:46 pm Its being promoted by Lees And West (ie. Vivian Lees and Ken West the guys who run the BDO). Tool announced their sideshows a couple of weeks before the announcement last year. I would say 100% that they're definitely on the bill. |

RE: Big Day Out 2008 Posted: Wed Sep 19, 2007 3:05 pm Well AWESOME then! Still not going... I'd travel to see RATM by themselves though, to get the full experience. I never get that exciting vibe at the BDO like I do when a good band comes to town. It's kinda like a sampler of live acts rather than a full-blown live experience. |
