i highly doubt that gunners will come here coz they were just here and i think the band has become somewhat of a joke latly.



not a crue fan then lol thats all good, they aint for everyone. they would be the 'poison' of this festival. i don't think they would headline over acdc or metallica. btw that new metallica song has grown on me so much!

any chance of nile playing? or is that just wishful thinking haha.

If they go with the same format this will backfire again. IMHO it needs to be as up to date as the european festivals. Poison was a big mistake.

Remember though, this is New Zealand. It'll be a good few years before Rock2whatever is as good as a european festival.

And as for poison being a mistake... well they'd just released a new album, and were a darn sight cheaper than hiring another BIG name band i'd say.

I agree with you though man. Exclude one hit wonder bands completely I'd say.

Captial C have contacts in the business on the west coast of the USA. So any acts they get, likely will be through those contacts. You can therefore probably exclude any British bands, I'd say. As I have already said, I have a budy working for AC/DC on the upcoming tour. He says they are playing Christchurch & that it is likely to be part of the Rock2??? festival. They played CHCH on the Ball breaker tour which I worked. It was at QE 2 park.
I confirmed with a contact today that both QE 2 & Lancaster Park have been pencil booked as possible venues.

The onlyw ay I was gonna see Priest ahd they come was by trying to come outta retirement & get some work as local crew on the gig! Not very likely 'cause I don't think I know anyone in the auckland scene these days they've all gone to Oz!
The capital C website has been like that for about three months at least.
They'll have to make an annoucnemnet soon , I'd imagine & I'll be working all my contacts to find out guys.

i was just thinking that motorhead are releasing a new album "motorizer" and toured here in either 05 or 06 (can't remember) and then again last year, in 07, so are regulars in nz and would probably be due here in 09 anyway so why not do a big rock fest?

Motorhead, the last time they were here they were borught out by the Hells Angels to do a gig in New Plymouth.
But as I said in the previous post Capital C seem to have connections in the US on the West Coast. Now I know Lemmy lives in LA but whether or not that would mean the band would be on the cards a sa possible act I dunno.
But yeah they'd be good. One of the first gigs I worked was Motorhead in 1985. I did em again in the mid ninties up north.

i've always been under the impression that it's the goat-headed demon. as for the origin of it, no i don't. i've never followed any 'satanic' beliefs i just admire the concept of individuality and the like, and so have never really done much research on the matter. i mainly use the name to mess with people and stir some kind of reaction.

anyway, when is the anouncment for this rock2??? happening. im dying to know.

Baphomet has a mixed and uncertain history. There's so many stories surrounding the name.

Check out info on the Knights Templar..... They are said to have worshipped a skull in a chalice called "Baphomet" I have it a picture in a book here. Itw as one of the reasons when they got "excommunicated" that was used to justify the excommunication.

Basically, when the Templars no longer had any real reason to exist, or at least found it hard to justify their existence, they were tortured into all sorts of false confessions (as often happened). They admitted to all manner of heresy... as you do.

Yet ANOTHER example of Christian religious authorities "demonising" anything that didn't fit in with, or challenged their authority. Which is what they did with a lot of pagan religions. Instead of banning them, make them into bad guys. Worship of nature became devil worship.

i F*CKING HATE being told what i should belive or whats the "right" way to live. i'd like to think of myself as being open minded and don't really care what people believe in just don't try make me think that if i don't belive what you do that i will go to well or some sh1t. as a great man (tom araya said) "it doesn't matter what religion you beleive in or what you percive as being 'right' everyone knows whats wrong" well he said something along those lines anyway.
