Like I said how the hell you can honestly say that has me stuffed? Kiss were flat, they looked & souned disinterested & quite lethargic.
Not a great performnace from a legendary rock outfit.

Lordi's music is what Kiss's would have been if they had maintained a good musical consistency and went a bit heavier.

The best cheesy 70's/80's "shock rock/metal" bands, in my humble opinion, were always Alice Cooper, and Twisted Sister.

The closest modern equivalents I can think of that have reached stadium status are Rob Zombie and Marilyn Manson - both who of with I appreciate a lot of their work, but dislike bits also.

Heres what the boys in Sonic Altar who played at last years Rock2Wgtn said when I asked them about whether they had heard where it was likely to be:

All I can gather is that it is more than likely going to be in Christchurch. But who knows for sure really.
As for who's playing... Thats the golden question.

theres not going to be one. they started advertisment at least a year prior to rock2wgtn 08, gives ppl a chance to sort out travel an crap. ac/dc is here in december anyway doing 2 shows. aerosmith would be the shit too! western springs would be the best place for it to be held if they did sort it out.

Yeah the rumors died down months ago, I'm not holding my breath. We'd have heard something by now, surely.

Weren't the first bands announced late Nov last time? That was 4 months beforehand. If the target is Labour Weekend then there's still time... maybe.

Maybe that was part of the problem regarding the low turnout. By then some people will have already booked and planned their Big Day Out trips. The average joe rock fan can't afford both. I know the target markets are different but "rock" covers a very broad spectrum of music fans.

Can't get backers this time around I believe is the problem. Plus some of the acts they hoped to book are doing their own tours this year rather than festivals liek they did in Oz last year before & after rock2wgtn.
